Hello and welcome to BBC Xtra English !
A study conducted by York University has shown that the Netherlands is the best country in the world for a child to live in.
Out of all of the countries included in the survey, the Netherlands, followed by Sweden and Norway, offer the best quality of life for children.
One Dutch student in England told the BBC that the Netherlands is a better place to grow up in because children are much more independent there than in England.
But the survey was not simply concerned about the quality of life but also about child poverty , which is a very important issue in Britain.
The research showed that Britain was very low in the table , just above Romania .
Paul Dornan, from the organisation The Child Poverty Action Group said that even though many good things have been done to tackle child poverty, things still need to be done fast to tackle this problem in the UK.
